The Material Handler ? Receiver job is to receive, unload, verify counts, put away received materials. This role uses a warehouse management system to record all inventory transactions accurately while adhering to all safety, quality, and logistics practices and procedures. Qualifications EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: ? High School Diploma or Equivalent ? 2+ years? shipping receiving experience in a manufacturing environment; food and beverage preferred. ? Previous forklift certification: standup, cherry picker, reach equipment experience preferred ? Experience with Warehouse Management Systems: Fishbowl preferred. ? Experience and understanding of BIN transfers ? Previous Inventory Control Experience ? Experience using a scan gun ? Experience loading and unloading large trailers and box trucks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: ? Must be a self-starter, with a strong work ethic, and ability to be dependable. ? Ability to work independently with general supervision as well as work in a diverse, fast-paced, cross-functional team environment exercising good communication and interpersonal skills. ? Must exercise good judgement and strong problem-solving skills. ? Keen eye for detail with the ability to visually detect, identify, and effectively communicate damaged or incorrect products to manager. ? Ability to read, write, and speak English. ? Strong mathematical aptitude with the ability to recognize number sequences, lot numbers, date codes and other data visually and accurately as well as add, subtract, multiply, and divide utilizing a calculator. ? Ability to attain and maintain company forklift certification to operate basic warehouse machinery, forklift, reach truck, palletizer, pallet jack in a safe manner while maneuvering around conveyors, case packers, pallets, and other equipment. ? Ability to use computers, scanners, tape guns, box cutter, and other small tools ? Ability to learn effectively and accurately utilize Inventory systems and other required technology for inventory control. ? Ability to follow work instructions, as well as Safety, GMP, Quality, and all Company policies. ? Ability to be flexible and take on requested assignments as required. ? Ability to have a positive, can-do attitude, strong work ethic, and be reliable and punctual. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements WORKING CONDITIONS: ? This position works in a food manufacturing and warehousing environment and requires the ability to adhere to all GMP, Food Safety, workplace safety and security policies including wearing required personal protective equipment, as well hair net, beard net, gloves, as required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ? Ability to stand or walk on concrete floors for 8 plus hours a day. ? Ability to continually bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds. ? Ability to maneuver full pallet loads utilizing, reach truck and other equipment. ? Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and fingers, to utilize scanners, computers, etc. ? Ability to visual recognize number sequences and detect material or product defects. ? Ability to accurately enter data into computer systems. Responsibilities ? Receive shipments: Unload incoming shipments from trucks or other vehicles ? Inspect shipments: Check for damage and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips ? Update records: Complete inventory transactions using WM systems; Maintain accurate inventory records and log sheets ? Sort and store: Unpack, code, and route items to the appropriate storage areas or departments ? Communicate: Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments ? Resolve issues: Collaborate with suppliers, Quality, Client Services etc. to report and resolve shipping issues or customer complaints. ?
