Daytime Swim Instructor (Morning to Noon)

Are you looking for some hours every week while kids are in school? Swim Instructors of our day-time shifts focus mostly on water survival classes at British Swim School of teach lessons to children to become safe and happy swimmers, regardless of age or ability. We are looking for an energetic person to teach water survival four babies and toddlers that don’t go to school and can come earlier in the day.
We believe in saving lives and teach through play in a fun-loving family environment. Your will be taught and certify British Swim School teaching curriculum ensures that each student in our program learns water survival skills and then progresses to propulsion and stroke development in a fun and gentle environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct swimming lessons in a safe and supportive environment
Teach proper swimming techniques, including strokes, breathing, and floating
Provide instruction on water safety and basic rescue techniques
Assess students' abilities and adjust lesson plans accordingly
Monitor students' progress and provide feedback for improvement
Ensure the safety of all participants during lessons
Maintain a clean and organized pool area
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Swim Instructor or in a related role
Strong swimming skills and knowledge of various swimming strokes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with students of all ages and skill levels
CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Skills:
Climb: Ability to climb ladders or stairs to access pool areas or equipment.
Behavior management: Experience in managing student behavior in a structured environment.
Experience working with kids: Previous experience working with students in an educational or recreational setting.
Swim: Proficient swimming skills across various strokes.
Physical education: Knowledge of physical education principles and teaching methods.
Childcare: Experience in providing care for children in a supervised setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Enthusiastic, assertive personality with strong relationship and customer service skills.
· Effectively communicate with customers and employees, bi-lingual is a plus.
· Disciplined to follow schedules and enforce safety procedures as well as follow policies, teaching methods and procedures of British Swim School.
· Able to demonstrate swim strokes appropriately.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Reports to and communicates directly with Aquatics Director or Manager.
· Be correctly dressed in British Swim School uniform and prepared pool-side at least 15 minutes before the start of your first lesson.
· Conduct classes in a fun and gentle environment, following current teaching methods, policies and safety and emergency procedures as detailed in the British Swim School teacher training manual and as directed by the Aquatics Director.
· Answer all customer questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner and resolve complaints and issues when necessary.
· Attend staff meetings and ongoing training/coaching as requested by Aquatics Director or Manager.
· Inform the Deck Ambassador of any needs or maintenance issues that need addressing.
· Work a flexible schedule that may include holidays and weekends as required by business needs and as requested by management.
· Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 5 consecutive hours.
· Other responsibilities as assigned by the Aquatics Director or Franchise Business Owner.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
