Kennedy-Donovan Center Haitian Creole Interpreter in Attleboro, Massachusetts

About the Role:
KDC is seeking a part-time, in-person Haitian Creole Interpreter who will assist Early Intervention Specialists by providing written and verbal interpretation services. The ideal candidate must be fluent in Haitian Creole/English. KDC’s concept of being a cultural liaison exemplifies this principle by helping bridge the gap between service providers and families.
FFS/As needed schedule: 6-10 hours per week based on family needs.
This position does require reliable transportation and a valid Driver's License
In this role, you’ll get to:
Provide translating/interpreting services for Early Intervention Specialists and families during home visits, center-based visits, group meetings and remote when necessary
Translate written materials such as parent letters, newsletters, narrative reports, IFSPs, and notes
Assist Early Intervention Specialists during home visits
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team approach to service provision
Maintain compliance with all Kennedy Donovan Center policies and procedures/DPH regulations and requirements
We are looking for people who have:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bilingual in Haitian Creole/English required
Ability to translate written materials in the pursuit of service delivery (via text or email)
Ability to meet required competency level in Microsoft Office Software
