Channel and Partner Manager, North America (Smart & Connected)
Sensata Technologies is looking for Channel and Partner Manager to lead the successful execution of growth in our Smart & Connected growth initiative. Commercial Fleets are looking to gain additional insight that can assist them reduce costs, increase efficiency, improve uptime and/or enhance safety. As a Channel and Partner Manager you will be responsible for developing and executing strategy for growth and development opportunities with our channel and partners.
This is a unique opportunity to play a highly visible role and develop and execute on a key global growth initiative. The Channel and Partner Manager will work closely with sales, marketing, product management and engineering teams along with all levels of customers and partners.
This role reports to the Senior manager, Market Development (Smart & Connected) and the selected candidate will join a highly motivated team within a new venture organization at Sensata charged with incubating new business opportunities.
Channel and Partner Strategy
Develop and maintain a business plan strategy for channel and partners that allows us to prioritize channel and partner options while maximizing time to market, value creation, growth and use of resources.
Evaluation and selection of third party suppliers and manufactures of sensors that can be add value to the ecosystem by way of partnerships, alliances and/or acquisition
Conduct a needs assessment and discover the voice of customer for channel and partners to understand critical-to-quality requirements for wireless sensors
Seek continuous customer input throughout the development and validation process to confirm product acceptance following tests and demos
Channel and Partner Management
Execution of strategy to develop and grow key partnerships within our OEM and aftermarket channels. (manufactures, up fitters, telematic providers, etc.)
Lead concept tests and customer demos to verify product definition (benefits and features), value proposition and purchasing criteria / intent
Support product development by working closely with engineering and product management to translate customer needs to product requirements
Develop and manage pricing strategy for products across channels and partners.
Develop materials for training, selling and marketing materials that can support channels, partners and internal team members.
Engage in consultative sales support with channel partners, devoting time in the field; work closely with the sales organization to develop and implement OEM and ecosystem partner engagement plans, including customer and partner proposals, quotes, negotiation, etc.
Channel and Partner Governance
Participate in market development activities in accordance with formal stage-gate commercialization process from business case and development phases to testing and launch
Participate and host regular internal cross-functional reviews to monitor progress and report out to management and other internal and external stakeholders on partner and channel progress.
Produce and maintain up-to-date and relevant dashboards and communication to show progress of activities relative to channel, partners and execution of strategy.

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:
B.S. degree in engineering, business management or related field. Technical degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in business creation or product/service/solution innovation. Ideal candidate will have experience with commercial fleets, telematics and/or commercial vehicle aftermarkets solutions.
In-depth knowledge of commercial vehicle ecosystem combined with knowledge of IOT devices.
Strong understanding of fleet telematic systems and value proposition.
Experience with product development or new technology introduction
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional environment and deliver results despite the ambiguity and complexity typically associated with emerging markets
Demonstrated public speaking skills with the ability to exhibit executive presence and establish credibility with an audience
Structured thinking with analytical skills
Desire to make a significant impact in a high growth environment
Energetic, collaborative, self-motivated and autonomous
Willingness to travel as required in Europe
Strong computer skills
