The System Design & Architecture Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD). The Early Warning and Defense Operations Systems (EWDOS) Department supports RMD by providing world class Sensor and Weapon Systems Engineering.
Domain Expertise includes Situational Awareness, Network Design, Battle Management, Battlespace Integration and Interoperability Command and Control, Communications, for Domestic and International customers.
Member of the Land Warfare & Air Defense (LW&AD) EUCOM Programs office of the Technical Director/Chief Engineer.
The Systems Engineer reports to the Multinational Growth and Execution (MNG&E) TD/CE, supporting capture and program execution across EUCOM MNG&E portfolio i.e. Multinational Patriot (The Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Spain, and Switzerland), European NASAMS (Hungary, Denmark, Romania, Finland, etc.), and VSHORAD Counter UAS.
Key Responsibilities support sub-pad TD/CE include:
IAMD SoS Architecture and System-level concept(s) development
Country capability roadmap development, to include maintenance of Country Product Modernization Plans definition
Program execution Chief Engineer delegate for IPDS Gates, EACs/EVMS process, and to ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across all IPTs, CPTs, and disciplines within the Program
Provide Capture engineering Leadership to proposals and responses to RFPs
Communicating technical status to internal engineering stakeholders and program managers
Technical Baseline development, maintenance and product line alignment activities; Execution of complex trade studies using Formal Decision Matrices (FDMs)
Advocate for customer’s view, clearly delineate customer “needs” vs. “wants”
Expedite technical resolution of customer-initiated requests, RFIs, RFQs; and manage expectations through timely and accurate communication.
Drive engineering team to 100% security and EXIM compliance; complete Technical Advisor training and JCA training and review documents for technical data
Drive a culture of affordable innovation; identicality and reuse in design, production and sustainment across programs and functions.
International and Domestic travel will be required
Minimum of 6+ years of experience in the field of engineering or a related technical discipline, including prior experience in a technical leadership role
Working knowledge in concepts of operations development and/or design of system level architecture
Working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines, Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) and Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Current Secret Security Clearance required or ability to obtain a clearance within 1 year from date of hire
Direct experience with IAMD Systems of Systems (SoS)
Working knowledge in Patriot and/or NASAMS Program across all phases of program lifecycle
Excellent written and verbal skills, proven multitasking abilities
Demonstrated team player, with excellent collaboration and mentoring skills
Ability to work closely with a cross functional team, with representatives from Engineering, Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, Quality, IPT/CPT Leadership, Program Management teams
Experience in International strategic development, customer interface, or contract capture in the Defense Industry
Experience in International contract execution with or without USG involvement in the Defense Industry (e.g. FMS and DCS contract execution)
Experience in Risk and Opportunity management
Formal or informal Systems Engineering / Architecture training
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline.
