Massachusetts Employer Manager of Food & Nutritional Services in Andover, Massachusetts
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Elder Services, responsible for the daily operation of the Town dynamic Senior Center food and nutrition program which provides the following: preparation of on-site midday meals, home-delivered meals, catering services and special events. Additional duties include staff and volunteer supervision, administrative oversight and nutritional assessments. This unique program is one of only a few in the state that prepares home-cooked food on-site, providing an opportunity for a qualified chef to imagine and prepare appealing, nutritious meals for those aging in the community. DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Elder Services, responsible for the daily operation of the Town\'s dynamic Senior Center food and nutrition program which provides the following: preparation of on-site midday meals, home-delivered meals, catering services and special events. Additional duties include staff and volunteer supervision, administrative oversight and nutritional assessments. Oversight and management of a dynamic nutrition program benefitting elder clients while meeting all federal/nutritional requirements. Supervise senior center food service staff and kitchen/dining room volunteers. Train, schedule and ensure adherence to Serve Safe standards and Board of Health requirements. Maintain compliance to safety standards in kitchen operations and machinery. Communicate and work cooperatively with vendors for purchasing and receiving food, commodities and supplies as necessary for the nutrition program, Lunch Box, and Catering services. Oversee inventory, food costs, and order processing and distribution of products and services. In cooperation with AgeSpan Agency, prepare monthly menu meeting senior nutritional standards. Participate in annual food service inspection with AgeSpan and resolve issues as appropriate Administrative management of necessary records, production of reports and statistics as required. Ensure nutritional services and facility are in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal safety, sanitation and quality standards. In conjunction with Division Director, development and management of annual budget, billing, and price setting. In conjunction with Division Social Workers, ensure nutritional assessments are completed for all participants as required. Perform related duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: Familiarity with quantity cooking and industrial kitchen equipment. Ability to keep accurate records, complete order forms, manage other related records keeping responsibilities and billing. Ability to follow health and order food service standards as directed. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and partake as a full member of the senior center staff. Ability to quantify nutritional values of all menu items. Demonstrable skill in basic computer operations utilizing standard Microsoft Suite applications. High School Diploma required; Associates Degree in Food Services or equivalent education. A minimum of five years\' work experience in a food service setting; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Education or experience in food service industry and/or dietary field is desirable. Ensure serve safe Manager certification, CPR and all other health code requirements are met and maintained.
