Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) for a Layout Support Engineer to join our fast-paced MMIC Foundry Section within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department. AMS, part of Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) business unit, designs, develops, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.

As a Layout Engineer you will be responsible for creating layouts to the specifications of the engineering team, and to perform design checks and physical verification on RF Integrated Circuits (RFIC) and Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMIC) using the Cadence Virtuoso Tool Suite. You will also be responsible for preparing designs for photomask order and delivery into Raytheon’s III-V Semiconductor Fab, while constantly communicating with the design and production teams.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Provide layout support to MMIC/RFIC Design Team

• Verification using Design Rule Checking (DRC) and Layout Versus Schematic (LVS)

• Reticle building and photomask ordering

• Data Check, Documentation, and Peer Reviewing

• This role requires onsite presence and may be eligible for hybrid work after 2 years.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR in absence of a degree, 9 years of prior relevant experience.

• Experience with integrated circuit layout and physical verification.

• Experience with CAD software tools

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

• Detail oriented, ability to follow documented instructions and procedures.

• Experience with integrated circuit layout and physical verification using Cadence Virtuoso software tools

• Familiarity with semiconductor processing and concepts, e.g. technologies like GaAs, GaN, SOI

• Programming skills such as scripting, Skill, Python, etc.

• Knowledge of the Linux Operating System.
