Mercury Systems Desktop Systems Specialist in Andover, Massachusetts

You are responsible for Assist employees with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software Offer daily operations and systems support to employees Verify the functionality of hardware and software components Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone Research questions using available information and resources Follow standard Service Desk procedures Log all Service Desk interactions Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention Stay current with system information, changes and updates Learn and maintain one of the software packages the Service Desk is responsible for Resolution of less complex cases with little supervision You are a part of an experienced, successful team that is the first line of contact for individuals that are experiencing computer issues. You have the opportunity to grow, not only within the group but the organization. To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience Exceptional customer service orientation Problem analysis and problem solving Oral and written communications Hands on technical knowledge of relevant technologies including Microsoft Operating systems, Microsoft Office applications and suites Learning skills 3+ years experience in an IT setting Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field a plus but not required Purpose: This position is for an established and productive individual contributor in the Desktop Systems sub-family, who works under moderate supervision. Responsibility Statement: Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, and resolution steps for less complex problems. Maintains current knowledge of system information, changes and updates in order to provide relevant advice to users. Prepares help desk incident reports and assists in hardware and software evaluations. Resolves less complex problems immediately and escalates more complex problems to senior level support. Responds to and diagnoses problems through discussions with users in order to advise users of the appropriate actions. Screens, refers and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to the maintenance of personal computers and related systems. Uses problem management database and help desk systems to find solutions. Additional Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Education: H.S.
