Job Description
Looking for a COBOL - iSeries/AS400 SME
We are seeking a skilled COBOL Developer with experience in iSeries/AS400 environments to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications written in COBOL, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain COBOL applications on iSeries/AS400 platforms.
Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Write efficient and maintainable code, following best practices.
Debug and resolve issues in existing applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, business analysts, and project managers.
Perform system testing and support user acceptance testing.
Document code changes and system modifications.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in COBOL programming, particularly in iSeries/AS400 environments.
Familiarity with DB2 databases and SQL.
Knowledge of RPG, CL, and other programming languages is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience with Agile methodologies is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Understanding of modern software development methodologies.
Experience with tools such as SEU, SDA, and RDI (Rational Developer for iSeries).
Familiarity with application integration and middleware solutions.
