AMHERST - Retail Dining Server/ Supervisor Amherst College invites applications for the Retail Dining Server/Supervisor position. The Retail Dining Server/Supervisor is a full-time, academic-year position, starting at \$20.16 per hour. The Retail Dining Server/Supervisor supports the efforts of Amherst College Dining Services by providing the campus community with quality products and excellent service. The server takes customer orders, prepares menu items pre-standards, cleans, sanitizes all areas as they go, sweeps, mops, table wiping, trash and recycling removal, and adhering to Dinning Service standards. The work schedule varies and corresponds to the College\'s operational needs, but generally is Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. Our work is central to student life and their needs occur at a variety of times throughout the day, week, and year and in such, a flexible schedule with extended shift times is required. In addition, the position is designated as providing essential services and may be required to report to work or remain on duty even when the College is closed. Qualifications: Required Basic math skills. Strong time management skills including the ability to follow verbal and written communications. Excellent customer service skills, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Able to work extra shifts and/or overtime if needed. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical and lift test. Commitment to effectively working with a diverse community. Preferred High school or vocational school diploma/certification or equivalent. Previous food preparation and service experience. Summary of Responsibilities: Sets up counters, prepares all necessary items for services like coffee brewing, etc., takes customer orders and prepares the food as orders are received. Stocks all needed items. Engage with customers by promoting local foods and newly featured menu items. Serves food, hot and cold beverages to our guests, assures all areas are kept clean and sanitized. Takes inventory, places food orders, retrieves supplies and restocks necessary food and beverages items as needed. Supervise students. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor and or manager on duty, including but not limited to, light cleaning, table wiping and other sanitation duties.
