Atkinson Family Practice Neuro Technician in Amherst, Massachusetts

AMHERST Neuro Technician Position Summary We are seeking an empathetic, dedicated, and motivated Neuro Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in working with our behavioral health team to ensure the smooth operation of our TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) and Spravato/Ketamine treatments for our patients. Technicians are a close point of contact for our patients with depression and for that reason need to have strong emotional intelligence and compassion. They are responsible for all administrative aspects of the treatments, including scheduling, tracking insurance authorizations, administering psychiatric rating scales, and patient charting. We are optimistic that this person will have an enthusiasm for our treatment options for patients and work periodically with our marketing coordinator to increase local awareness of our programs. This is a 36-40 hour per week full-time position. We are open Monday-Thursday 7:30AM - 6:00PM, Fridays 7:30AM-5:00PM. No Weekends are required for this role. Ability to Commute: Amherst, MA (Required) Work Location: In person Job Duties Administer treatments according to specific physician protocols. Set up the treatment sessions for patient comfort and treatment accuracy. Provide excellent patient care and treat patients with compassion while developing trust and rapport. Provide support, reflective listening, and compassion to patients struggling with depression and/or anxiety. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with patient comfort, coil contact, and TMS system setup throughout treatment. Administer psychiatric rating scales and counsel patients on completion of scales. Record session notes, track insurance authorizations, and schedule patient visits using EMR and medical scheduling software. Complete insurance authorizations and ordering for the department. Communicate with the behavioral health/ PCP providers as appropriate. Work with marketing on innovative programs and advertising Qualifications Bachelor\'s Degree required, preferably in a Bio Science or Neurobiology field. Experience working in a medical environment preferred. Experience collaborating with patients who are suffering from anxiety and depression preferred. Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor, and interface well with patients in a mental-health setting required. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate well with a team.
