Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Lead Systems Engineer in Hampden County, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be the primary technical designer and administrator for systems. You will also mentor and train IT system engineers and administrators, implement security procedures, and work on multiple projects as a project leader.
Responsibilities:
• Taking the lead role in designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-class Windows and Linux configuration management and system deployment.
• Mentoring, coaching, and providing training to IT system engineers and administrators.
• Implementing and maintaining security policies and procedures to ensure the security, confidentiality, and audibility of administrative information resources.
• Leading meetings to enhance communication on IT-related subjects across the campus.
• Working on multiple projects as a project leader, proposing and implementing strategies in the migration and consolidation of complex distributed systems to a more centralized enterprise model.
• Analyzing, monitoring, and updating systems to keep up with changing technologies.
• Designing, analyzing, and configuring Windows and Linux servers in a heterogeneous environment to install, upgrade, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the system.
• Monitoring system performance and tuning system resources to maintain efficient use of managed resources.
• Responding to escalated alerts and customer reported issues.
• Developing tools for automation of tasks and integration of other IT services.
• Actively participating in the planning of both short- and long-term goals and directions for the team, researching, recommending, and implementing industry best practices
Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in the Education industry
• Proficiency in Cloud Technologies is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of DELL EMC Technologies is required
• Experience with Active Directory is necessary
• Demonstrated ability in Automation is essential
• Familiarity with AWS Technologies is a must
• Proficiency in Backup Technologies is required
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows Server is necessary
• Knowledge of VMware is essential
• Familiarity with SolarWinds is expected
• Experience with PowerShell Scripting is required
