AMHERST Campus Pantry Manager The Amherst Survival Center is seeking an experienced, organized, and collaborative leader to help launch and oversee a new full-service food pantry (located on the UMass Amherst Campus) including operations, administration, staff and volunteer team. The Campus Pantry Manager will lead a team of staff and volunteers, to provide a high quality, variety, and quantity of free groceries to members of the UMass community facing food insecurity. Much of the food comes from the Food Bank of Western MA, in addition to donations, food recovery, and supplemental purchasing. In the first year of this role, this person will play a key role in the planning, design, and launch of the new program. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years experience (5+ preferred) in food pantry or similar operations, who combines strong management, project leadership, and collaboration skills; a compassionate and trauma-informed approach; a desire to lead and teach others (including volunteers); and a real passion for providing our neighbors with healthy, quality, food. This is a full time, exempt (salaried) role. Schedule is generally M-F, with some evening and weekend hours. This role is an employee of the Amherst Survival Center (not the University), and will work onsite at the Campus Pantry located on Umass Campus.
