Singer Warehouse Manager in Agawam, Massachusetts

Overview

The Warehouse Manager plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received from suppliers. This position oversees all warehouse operations to meet business requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Trains, coaches, mentors, monitors, and evaluates the performance of warehouse associates; communicates job expectations; Proactively takes corrective action as necessary.

  • Oversees scheduling and assigns work to warehouse employees.

  • Ensures that the warehouse is free from safety hazards and employees comply with safety standards, training, policies, and procedures.

  • Creates and manages warehouse processes and procedures that ensures high quality, efficiency, cost effectiveness, work accuracy, and strong productivity.

  • Ensures the cleanliness, organization, and effective use of the warehouse space.

  • Ensures that the work facility, company vehicles, and warehouse equipment is safe and well maintained.

  • Establishes goals for the warehouse department; Monitors and implements corrective action where necessary.

  • Enforces team accountability in adhering to customer satisfaction, company policy, and process standards.

  • Motivates the team to excel in a collaborative, customer focused, continuous process improvement, and high performing environment.

  • Manages and resolves internal and external conflict.

  • Ensures the security of the warehouse and enforces access controls.

  • Utilizing the inventory management system, receives equipment and materials that are delivered to the company by vendors, customers, or other external warehouses.

  • Examine incoming shipments for accuracy and evaluate damaged items.

  • Communicate with Project Managers, Supervisors, and other Stakeholders regarding day-to-day activities. This may include but is not limited to problems, discrepancies, or deviations in scheduling.

  • Properly and safely pick, pull, and load products for shipment.

  • Drive vehicles (i.e. trucks, forklifts, vans) for the purpose of transporting orders to designated sites.

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience : High school diploma or equivalent. 3 years of experience supervising a warehouse environment.

Skills:

  • Must be proactive and results-oriented.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a team.

  • Effective interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing priorities

  • Must be analytical, have strong attention to detail, and be highly organized.

  • Exceptional work ethic with a focus on achieving goals and targets in a timely and complete manner

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner

  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

    Other: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background and motor vehicle record check; Requires a DOT physical.

    Standard hours are Monday – Friday, from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. May require early morning, evening, and weekend hours as business needs demand. This position will require travel which may include out-of-town and overnight stays. Must be able to safely drive an automobile to and from client sites.
