Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Production Supervisor who is responsible for supervision, direction, and motivation of assigned employees to achieve company goals of quality, production, safety, and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and executes plans to meet or exceed department and company goals of quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. Manages department performance measures and visual controls. Focuses on daily operations
Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas. Present ideas for improvement and information accurately and clearly in both oral and written form
Ensures that employees adhere to schedules and customer service requirements. Works in conjunction with Quality Assurance to make sure high-quality products are produced as specified
Identifies, analyzes, and acts to correct bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, tool and equipment problems
Councils, motivates, and instructs Lead and Set Up personnel in quality standards, machine operations, and critical documentation, and employee relations
Provides on-the-floor training to new employees as needed and works closely with the floor Leads and Set Up employees
Manages department by; ensuring effective employee relations; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; coaching and developing talent; addressing issues and resolving problems
Ensures proper inventory levels are maintained to meet daily production and/or assembly needs
Manages department priorities
May create production schedules to prioritize department’s needs
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years as a production supervisor in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to read and understand blueprints. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software and Manufacturing software

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
