Job Title : Cost Accountant

Location: Agawam, MA

Job Description: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and controlling manufacturing costs, preparing cost reports, and providing insights to improve financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular cost reports.

  • Monitor and report on cost variances and identify areas for cost reduction.

  • Conduct cost audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to develop cost standards.

  • Maintain and update cost accounting systems and procedures.

  • Prepare and analyze inventory valuations and cost of goods sold.

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.

  • Provide financial analysis and support for decision-making processes.

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
