Honeywell Sr Advanced Test Engineer - Electromechanical in Acton, Massachusetts

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Sr Advanced Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in the validation and qualification of new products and systems at Phoenix Controls. You will be responsible for developing and executing test plans that encompass a wide range of components, including mechanical and electrical hardware, firmware, software, and network communication elements. Your expertise in test design and data analysis will ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

You will report to Phoenix Controls headquarters in Acton, MA. This is not a remote position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define roles and responsibilities of participants in the validation and qualification process, based on design inputs and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams effectively to ensure smooth execution of the validation process.

  • Interpret technical documents and specifications to understand product and process characteristics.

  • Develop comprehensive test plans using experiment planning and organization principles.

  • Create and set up test beds for validation and qualification of process, product, and service designs.

  • Implement appropriate measurement and test methods, using relevant equipment and tools.

  • Define and apply prototype material identification, status, segregation, and traceability. Establish and maintain sample integrity, avoiding inventory contamination, misidentification, etc.

  • Analyze and interpret measurement data to assess repeatability, reproducibility, and capability.

  • Identify and evaluate reliability characteristics of products, including redundancy and failure rates.

  • Conduct fault analysis and recommend corrective actions or improvements.

  • Perform FMEAs, FMECAs, and FTAs to assess and mitigate risks.

  • Make final acceptance or rejection decisions for products, processes, or services.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.

  • At least 6 years of experience testing electro-mechanical hardware and software.

  • Knowledge of Niagara system and HVAC control systems

WE VALUE

  • LabVIEW, HTML5, test Complete and Java.

  • Jira Align knowledge of validation and qualification methods and processes.

  • Demonstrated proficiency developing test protocols and plans, including identification of test cases, to qualify products and systems composed of mechanical and electrical hardware, firmware, and software elements.

  • Hands-on experience testing electronic hardware including RF, embedded microprocessor systems, network communication protocols (BACnet and LON), and Windows-based software applications.

  • Proven track record developing test for software and/or hardware.
