SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Membership Marketing Specialist is responsible for working in conjunction with the Manager, Membership Marketing to execute the Museum's membership acquisition, renewal, and retention campaigns and communication projects to ensure we continue to grow our engaged membership base and achieve our financial goals. The Museum of Science has 30,000 - 50,000 members, and the membership program contributes up to $6 million in annual revenue. One highlight of the membership program is our industry-leading automatic renewal program. This role uses marketing project management skills, copywriting, and a solid understanding of email, digital marketing, and direct mail best practices to deliver membership acquisition and retention campaigns that maintain and enhance the Museum of Science's exceptional membership marketing program. RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ + Under the supervision of the Manager, Membership Marketing deploys and creates content for member e-newsletters, standalone emails, and web-based membership content to increase member engagement and renewal rates and reactivate lapsed members. Participate in the e-communication and web planning meetings to ensure that Membership is appropriately placed within the overall Museum digital marketing landscape.

  • Coordinate with Integrated Marketing Communications, Digital, and other departments on member loyalty, retention, and recapture campaigns. Responsibilities include producing copy and facilitating individualized member recognition.

  • Maintain and update an inventory of Membership marketing materials.

  • Support the Membership Partner Coordinator in collecting preference and behavioral data on members and access program participants to inform Membership communications and strategies better.

  • Serve as the departmental point person for most vendor relationships - requesting proposals, coordinating outsourced work, monitoring expenses, and paying invoices - to ensure that projects are completed successfully, on time, and within budget.

  • Conduct public relations duties as needed, including using a Membership CRM and/or ticketing system to efficiently answer member inquiries and represent the Museum during peak periods and at events.

  • Support the Museum by helping to enact the Museum's policies, procedures, and initiatives and serving as a positive Museum representative to the internal and external communities. Perform other work-related duties as required by the Manager.

WORK SCHEDULE: ( Full-Time) Tuesday - Saturday - Hybrid

REPORTS TO: Manager, Membership Marketing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

+ + Education: Bachelor of Science or Arts degree

  • Experience: 3 or more years of marketing experience.

  • Proven written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • At least one year of experience either executing email campaigns with an email service provider OR marketing project management

  • At least one year of experience using a CRM database

  • Proven track record working in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated experience working in Microsoft Office Suite

STARTING SALARY:

Exempt (Salaried) $50,000-$55,000 yearly
