State of Massachusetts Lead Kitchen Services Worker II in Taunton, Massachusetts

Taunton State Hospital is seeking a Lead Kitchen Services Worker II. The successful candidate will supervise Kitchen Services Workers (KSW I), oversee and participate in the meal service and ensure sanitary standards and practices are maintained by cleaning and washing equipment in work area. _ Please Note_: This position is 40 hours per week. The selected candidate will work on the first shift from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The days off are Wednesday/Thursday. _ Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive):_ * Exercises direct supervision and assigns work to dietary workers (KSWs) in meal service and in cleaning tasks on a meal-by-meal basis daily. * Inspects kitchen and dining room for cleanliness and adherence to state sanitary codes using check lists. * Trains dietary workers and provides instruction on the protocols of the dietary department. * Supervises meal service to ensure correct diets are served and that there is proper portioning according to the menu daily. * Takes direction from cook in charge in food related issues and relays information to subordinate staff. * Serves food and keeps serving counters supplied with food and beverages on a meal-by-meal basis daily. * Helps with catering when assigned and fills out food requisitions for the units. _ Required Qualifications:_ * Applicants must have one year of Dietary Experience. _ Preferred Qualifications_/:/ * Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency. _ About Taunton State Hospital:_ Taunton State Hospital (TSH) operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is a 45-bed inpatient facility that provides continuing care inpatient services to adults with major mental illnesses.
