The director will serve as the SME for developing a holistic, in-depth understanding of the Wind Services market and recommending options for profitable growth, articulating both “where to play” and “how to win.” The Director, Business Development reports to the Vice President of Business Development GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * • Analyze the Wind Service Market with both a macro and micro lens in terms of market, customers, competitors, technology, and geography. • Serve as the industry expert, understanding the market drivers which influence our business, identify trends and changes, and evaluate/predict their impact to the organization. • Utilizes market share, growth potential, information on competition and economic conditions in the development of new business opportunities. • Provide information and data to competitively create commercial insights for use in customer negotiations. • Work cross-functionally to perform qualitative analysis to provide competitive insights to business leaders and peers. • Collaborate with the Vice President of Business Development to drive growth in new product/services offerings. *EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, engineering, maritime transportation, or a related field (MBA preferred). EXPERIENCE:10 years related sales/marketing/business intel experience, preferably in the energy or maritime industry along with a proven track record of executive level recommendations based on market intel that drove profitable revenue growth. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. COMPETENCIES: * • Self-driven, energetic, creative, and resourceful self-starter who demonstrates leadership skills and strong commercial acumen. • Strong analytical thinking and pragmatic problem solver, methodical and hands-on approach • Excellent planning, execution, and project management skills • Strong business and financial acumen with relevant experience interacting with and assessing business models, diverse data sources and financial metrics. • Superlative communication abilities (speaking, writing, presenting) for a wide variety of stakeholders. • Familiarity with offshore wind, vessel chartering and marine contracting. *JOB SCOPE:Position impacts a single business unit/segment. WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like.
